Dr Muchangi is a globally recognized thought leader in climate change, public health, and environmental health systems, with expertise spanning WASH and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). He is a trusted advisor to the World Health Organization and has significantly shaped research and policy in public health across Africa.
Currently serving as Programme Director for Population Health and Environment at Amref Health Africa, he provides strategic and technical leadership on climate change, WASH, and NTDs across more than 10 countries in East, West, and Southern Africa.

David Ngarama is the Chief Executive Officer of Kenya Trade Network Agency (KenTrade), the state agency under The National Treasury and Planning responsible for advancing trade facilitation through Kenya’s Single Window System.

Prof. Erustus Kanga, PhD, C.B.S., EBS
Prof. Erustus Kanga, PhD, C.B.S., EBS, is the Director General of the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), the hosting institution of the International Sustainable Green Tourism Convention & Exhibition (ISGTCE) 2026. A distinguished conservationist with over two decades of experience, he brings deep expertise in biodiversity conservation, climate change, and community livelihood development.
As Director General, Prof. Kanga leads KWS in the management and protection of Kenya’s national parks and wildlife reserves, safeguarding the country’s natural heritage while advancing progressive, sustainable conservation models. His leadership has been instrumental in strengthening the integration of conservation and tourism, ensuring that protected areas not only preserve biodiversity but also serve as key drivers of sustainable economic growth and community empowerment.
Under his stewardship, KWS has continued to position itself at the forefront of sustainable tourism by promoting eco-tourism, fostering public-private partnerships, enhancing visitor experiences, and embedding climate resilience within conservation strategies. Dr. Mamo B. Mamo, PhD, EBS, is the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), Kenya’s principal agency responsible for environmental regulation and oversight. A highly respected environmental leader, he has guided the Authority over several years with a strong focus on sustainability, compliance, and institutional transformation.
With extensive experience in environmental governance, Dr. Mamo has been instrumental in strengthening regulatory frameworks, enhancing environmental impact assessment processes, and promoting responsible natural resource management across the country. His leadership has also driven digital innovation within NEMA, most notably through the rollout of the Environmental Information System (ENVIS), which has significantly improved efficiency, transparency, and service delivery in environmental management. Recognized as Africa’s Best Environmental Agency CEO, Dr. Mamo continues to champion progressive environmental policies that align with global sustainability goals while addressing Kenya’s unique ecological and developmental needs.

He will highlight how effective waste segregation at source is fundamental to improving waste collection, recycling, and disposal systems—reducing environmental pollution and supporting circular economy practices within the tourism sector. Captain George Kamal
Captain George Kamal is the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kenya Airways (KQ), A seasoned aviation executive, Captain Kamal previously served as Chief Operating Officer of Kenya Airways, where he oversaw critical aspects of flight operations, safety, and service delivery. His leadership is defined by a strong operational foundation and a forward-looking vision that integrates efficiency, innovation, and environmental responsibility.
Under his stewardship, Kenya Airways has placed sustainability at the core of its operational strategy, embedding environmentally responsible practices across its business model. The airline is actively working towards achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, in line with global aviation commitments, while accelerating the adoption of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to significantly reduce carbon intensity. In addition, KQ continues to implement robust waste reduction initiatives, optimize fuel efficiency, and modernize its fleet to minimize environmental impact.

Philip J. Mainga, EBS
Philip J. Mainga, EBS, is the Managing Director of the Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC), where he has provided transformative leadership since his confirmation in 2020. He has been at the forefront of revitalizing Kenya’s rail transport system, positioning it as a key pillar in the country’s infrastructure development and sustainable mobility agenda.
Under his leadership, KRC has made significant strides in expanding and optimizing the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), enhancing regional connectivity and facilitating efficient movement of passengers and cargo. He has also overseen the rehabilitation of legacy meter-gauge rail lines, restoring critical transport corridors, and advancing the modernization of the Nairobi Commuter Rail network to improve urban mobility and reduce congestion.

Norbert Talam is the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Tourism Regulatory Authority (TRA), the statutory body mandated to regulate, coordinate, and enhance standards within Kenya’s tourism sector. As the head of the Authority, he oversees critical functions including licensing, compliance, quality assurance, and the enforcement of regulatory frameworks that ensure professionalism and sustainability across the industry.
Under his stewardship, the Tourism Regulatory Authority is playing a central role in elevating industry standards, fostering investor confidence, and promoting responsible tourism practices that align with Kenya’s broader sustainability agenda. Dr. Margaret Otieno
Margaret Otieno is the Chief Executive Officer of the Wildlife Clubs of Kenya (WCK), bringing extensive expertise in environmental management, conservation education, and sustainable development.
She holds a PhD in Climate Change and Education for Sustainable Development and an MSc in Environment and Development. Dr. Otieno is a recognized leader in conservation and serves on multiple boards, including Wildlife Kenya, African Fund for Endangered Wildlife, and Elsa Conservation Trust. She is also Deputy Chair of the Kenya Steering Committee of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and Deputy Chair of the IUCN Commission on Education and Communication (CEC) for Eastern and Southern Africa.
A recipient of the prestigious 2020 International Brandwein Medal, Dr. Otieno is a passionate, hands-on environmental education professional driven by the belief that sustained education—from grassroots to leadership—is key to effective environmental protection and conservation.
Under her leadership, WCK has expanded its impact across Africa and beyond, helping inspire a global wildlife clubs movement. For over 50 years, the organization has educated more than one million young Kenyans, many of whom now hold influential roles in conservation, policy, and sustainable development.

Kea Wakesho Simmons is the Founder of Traverze Culture, a pioneering company focused on relocation services, medical tourism, diaspora engagement, and cultural integration across East Africa.
Through Traverze Culture, she leads initiatives that connect members of the African diaspora with authentic African experiences through investigative tours, wellness and medical tourism programs, investment exploration, heritage journeys, and long-term relocation support. The organization works closely with local communities, healthcare providers, tourism stakeholders, and cultural institutions to create transformative experiences that promote cultural reconnection, sustainable travel, and economic inclusion.
